Eli was a fellow bike rider and train commuter I became friends with on my commute to the city. He moved back to Minnesota.

I met Mike at the train station in San Mateo, CA. We both took our bikes on CalTrain for the commute to San Francisco. Mike is a creative director. He hates this picture, but really, it's him. He didn't know I was taking his picture.

Does anyone know this man? I was riding my bike up the Embaradero in San Francisco and saw him walking by. I jumped off my bike and asked him if I could take his picture. I got two shots, thanked him, then went on my way. Took no longer than a minute. It was just before the Second Iraq War started. I wonder what's become of him.

Man in a Boat - October 2002
I shot this on my way to work. I was riding my bike up the Embarcadero in San Francisco. What you don't see in the picture are the guy's coworkers who are yelling and belittling him for taking the boat out my himself during the storm. He nearly capsized a couple of times in the few minutes I stopped to take the picture.
